Big Boy Room Reveal

*UPDATE* Enter now for a chance to win a free E-Design Giveaway, go here for all the details.

Woot,Woot, I can't believe it I've reached over a 100 followers. I now that's not a ton to some, but for me it's an accomplishment! Thank you to all of you who started following this little blog of mine it really means a lot!

On another note, it's finally here the Big boy room reveal. Are you excited? This is the design board I came up with for Gavin's room, and now it's finally complete. I designed this for my sister.  We had a teeny, tiny a budget to work with so we did a lot of DIY projects, that we worked on together.  I'm so excited, I hope you like it!

We added orange trim to the basic white curtains to spice them up. I originally wanted a roman shade but my sister found these curtains on sale for a steal so we made them work.

The ship is from Hobby Lobby.

Gavin's little reading nook, he'll come sit here and read for hours. He loves it!

We made an upholstered headboard and upholstered the box spring. You can find the headboard tutorial here and the pillow tutorial here

Want to paint a striped wall? Learn how to here.

Gavin loves his new big boy room. My sister is a teacher so she wanted a room that was also educational. The alphabet and the map on the wall, bring in some decoration yet educational elements to the room. He also has a spot to read and a chalkboard to draw on.

  25. I love this!! If I had to pick a favorite element I think it'd be the headboard- love that you made a classic upholstered headboard but one that looks so "boyish" at the same time. But really- I can't pick just one favorite part! I love the whole thing. Very very cool! I'm a new follower :)
