B's Big Girl Room

So were in the process of moving, and I'm going to have to re-do Bryn's room. I figured I might as well transition her to a toddler room. I've been trying to decide what direction I want to go in. This is what I've been thinking. I'm going to paint the walls white with aqua trim like this.

I want to do some sort of drapery like this. I was thinking I could use drop cloths and then add a ribbon detail to the outside. Then add a cute fabric on the inside. I love how vibrant and fun this room is.

Or I could go with something more muted like this picture! I love how calm and soft it is.

Two very different rooms, which room do you like best?

Office Inpiration

Since I'm moving there's space for an office! I've been going through images of what I want in this office and here is some that have inspired me!
I love how crazy and eclectic this feels. I love the windows in black the bright red desk and the black in white rug. Dreamy.
I have an all white desk I was wanting to revamp. I would love to add some detailing like this.

What's not to love about this dreamy office? The blue tufted chair, the crisp white walls, or the lovely mix of furniture?

Guest Blogger: Danielle Oakey

Today I have over Danielle from Danielle Oakey Interiors. I'm so excited for you to get to know her a little better. She's also an interior designer and I adore her blog.

Hi, I am Danielle from Danielle Oakey Interiors. I am originally from Calgary Canada but I currently live in Salt Lake City Utah with my husband and 4 year old daughter. My husband is just finishing his 3rd year of medical school, and I split my time between being a stay-at-home mom and running my small interior design buisness.
I knew I wanted to be an interior designer from a young age. I graduated with my bachelors in interior Design in 2007. It was an extremely challenging 4 years, but I loved every second of it.
One of my design idols is Emily Henderson. I really think that woman can do no wrong. Her ability to mix patterns and texture is really incredible.

My favorite trend in decorating would be mixing design styles. I love including modern, vintage, and traditional pieces in each room.
My personal style is always evolving. I am typically attracted to bright, playful, and colorful interiors. My own home was done on a serious budget. Most of my furniture was purchased from thrift stores and refinished or from Ikea! I can't wait until I can purchase a new piece of furniture, one day...

Thanks Danielle for stopping by! You have to check out her blog she has such a great eye for design and has amazing talent!

Don't forget, there's still a chance to enter my  E-Design Giveaway! You can Enter here.

I always love finding new ways to find inspiration for design. Why not let your closet do it for you? My theory is, if you already have it, love it, and wear it, you'll probably swoon over it in you interiors as well. So take a peek into your closet and see what you have, it just might inspire your next design.

Here's the same outfit, with two different ways to get inspired:

The floral skirt could inspire a bold floral wall in your home. Mix with different shade of blue and white and your set!
The red accents really shine in this room. I love the different shades of blue just gorgeous. The gold chandelier is the jewelery that adds a little extra pizazz.

So go run to your closet and search through what your drawn to. Is it neutrals, a favorite color, animal print? Let that be a starting point to design your room around.
