This is one of the simplest projects ever.
All you need is:
Card stock
A Silhouette Machine or you could use a Butterfly punch
We cut about 150 butterflies in assorted sizes using the silhouette machine. |
We used this You Tube video on how to draw the perfect oval. We then cut out a circle to start putting our butterflies around to give us a starting point. We used stick tack to attach all the butterflies to the wall. Just keep placing your butterflies all around spreading them out to wherever you think they look good. Sometimes you have to rearrange them. |
This project really is simple and it makes an inexpensive impact in a room. They even look better in person!

ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to do something like this around my bedroom door frame for ages! It looks so beautiful! Adding it to the DIY list now!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved the set for Serena's bedroom on gossip girl with those butterflies, and thought they'd be an awesome project to DIY! Great job!

I know I love Serena's bedroom, it is what inspired this! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteSo effective aren't they. I was a bit slack and bought myself one of those little shadow boxes with the butterfly art inside, yes slack but I do love it :)

ReplyDeleteI featured this today: http://trophyw.blogspot.com/2012/05/linky-party-43-will-craft-for-fun.html
ReplyDeleteThanks Tara! I think your bats idea for Halloween would look amazing! I might just have to try it this year!
DeleteFun to do. I have some (mass hand cut) butterfly wall art right behind me in my office.
