Fireplace mantels

Lately I have been designing a lot of fireplaces. Everyone wants to know where to start. It's important to catalog ideas of things you like, but keep in mind it might not look the same on your fireplace. Some things to consider are if you want a mantel, crown molding, tile or stone,or if you have vaulted ceilings. This is latest fireplace I designed that we're in the process of building. We had considered all these thing but still hit a few snags with our contractor. It's a great idea to sketch everything out before hand so everybody is on the same page. Also keep an open mind to other ideas that might fit you home better. The current progress of my clients fireplace. I'm loving how it's turning out so far! We still have to add a marble subway tile and add some millwork.

This is the before.
This is in progress....

And here is some of our inspiration images.

Client's House Reveal

I had so much fun designing this clients home! She was the best client and so wonderful to work with. She wanted to go away from the reds, browns and dark tones she had in the home. We lightned everything up. We painted all the wall Silver Sage from Restoration Hardware, and all the trim White Dove from Benjamin Moore.

Design Project Pictures

I just wanted to share with you some pictures of this project I worked on.  This was for a young family, she wanted it practical but also colorful.  She already had a lot of the main furniture pieces.  She just needed help with accessorizing, and a few accent pieces. This is the Family room, and we wanted to keep the colors light and airy. We used a mix of patterns and textures in the space to keep it fresh. All the accessories and end tables came from Four Chairs Furniture.

The bedroom just needed a few accessories, a bench, pillows, artwork and lamps.

The dining room we added some artwork, accesories and the roman shade.

Studio 5 Nursery

I had a wonderful opportunity to decorate a nursery for KSL producer Lesli Harker that was featured on Studio 5. You can watch the segment here. We had a short time frame to do it in and even a smaller budget. We did all the decor, and paint for under $200. Lesli made the mobiles and took the artwork for the nursery. I love how it turned out.

I made the window treatment with 2 yards of fabric and some ribbon. I simple cut the fabric the shape of the window and lined it with a black out liner. I was inspired by the shade that Kristen from The Hunted Interior made. It cost around $35 to make.
